Electrum Design Australia

Electrum Design is a new company formed by prospector, David Cockburn (known to his friends as 'Scotty') and goldsmith, Glenice Lesley Matthews.

Scotty prospects around the Nullagine region of Western Australia and has fallen in love with the abundant wildflowers that bloom in the harsh environment of the northern regions of the State. When the weather becomes too hot for prospecting for gold, Scotty returns to the city where he crafts the gold nuggets he finds into beautiful Jewellery.

The West Australian Wildflower series of spoons is an expression of Scotty's love of the north. With the help of Glenice, he has been learning the fine art of making handwrought silver and the exacting practice of vitreous enamelling. These skills are combined to produce the colourful spoons representing wildflowers of Western Australia.

Electrum Design West Australian Wildflower Series include the Leschenaultia, Kangaroo Paw and Sturt's Desert Pea. It is planned that other wild flowers will be added to the series to become collector's sets. The spoons are made in Sterling and Fine Silver with vitreous enamel flowers.
